The role in The Lad of The Lake was her biggest break, earning her the Tony Award in addition to the acclaim of critics for her performance. In the following year she was made the lead character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. She is a popular singer. she also has released songs and plays.
