Zoe-perry
Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two shows she starred in on Roseanne. Perry was forbidden to perform in front of her family until the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the stress it would cause. Perry was shy in high-school and was not a performer. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends when she transferred from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved into New York in search of television roles. Perry was able to land small roles on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California for theater roles. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. The show featured their father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. The character she played was an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. She got the part in an audition that was open despite having a connection to the character.
