Lita Rossana Ford She was a British-born American singer, guitarist as well as songwriter. In the latter part of the 70s, she was the guitarist in the hard rocking All-girl group The Runaways. While the group did not achieve much success in America however they became extremely popular in other countries. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" on the Edge. The albums of Ford were not particularly popular and she went on hiatus for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both major success. Her success was unfortunately brief and after a couple of additional years she was absent.
